Easter Baby!
With a week of spring break already gone we are in the home stretch of the school year. During the break we were able to snuggle lots and play. The Bel also had a busy social schedule as our break included Holy week and lots of family time.
We stayed home for the first part of the week and played toys, played with Karamia and took nice long naps. On Wednesday we went to visit Sandra (Bels future MIL) who just had surgery on her knee.
Thursday we went to have lunch with Grandma JJ and Daddy and Auntie Jen and Lauren joined us there. From there we headed home to wait for Grandma Leann who was able to see the LO for the first time since Uncle and Auntie's wedding. She was able to see what a big girl Bel has become. Later that evening we headed down for Holy Thursday Mass and by the time we got home and the baby ready for bed it was 11:00pm.
Friday was another interesting day as DM came home from work at 9am with the flu! Yikes! He was able to rest as the Bel had a "photo shoot" with her cousins. We met Grandpa D and Auntie Jen with the girls and away they went! We got some wonderful shots of the girls for Grandpa and Grandma and a couple to share with Great-Grandma too. We were unable to attend Good Friday mass with DM sick, but I was able to sneak away for a night out with the crew from school leaving DM in bed sick and Bel in bed asleep.
Saturday was a better day as DM was feeling a little better and I was able to run a couple of errands with out Bel. When I came home the Bel and I got ready for dinner at Grandpa George's and Grandma Sandie's without DM who was getting in bed as we were leaving. We had a wonderful dinner and fun play time with Grandma and Grandpa before Grandpa headed to church for choir. Bel, Grandma Sandie and I headed to church a short while after and met Uncle Doug and Auntie Stacey who were waiting for us there. Little pumpkin stayed awake the entire Easter Vigil Mass... 2 1/2 hours! Bel and I headed home and got to bed around 11:30pm and off to bed she went.
Sunday morning we opened Bel's basket from the Easter bunny and got ready for lunch with Great-Grandma, Auntie Jen, Uncle Nate, Ella, Lauren, Grandpa D and Grandma JJ. After lunch we spent the afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa so the girls could play and get their baskets that the bunny left there for them. We all had a busy weekend so we headed home to do laundry and to watch Big Brother.

Busy day for a little girl!
Weekends are beginning to be much more relaxed now that I am done coaching for the year. Saturday we relaxed and did a whole lot of nothing. Sunday on the other hand was a very busy day for all of us, but especially for the little Bel. We (Bel and Mommy) woke up as we normally do on a Sunday morning around 7:00am. I woke DM up asking if he was up to going to mass, but he simply rolled over and closed his eyes. The easy solution to this is to lay the baby next to him and she squeals in delight that she is next to Dada, then she reaches over with those chubby little arms and grabs at his face until he is awake and talking with her.
We got ready and headed down to church for Palm Sunday and met Auntie Stacey and Uncle Doug who were saving us spots. The baby and I went to the gathering space where mass would begin and followed Father, the alter servers and the cross into the worship space. Bel was intrigued by the waving palms and so badly wanted to eat them (I wish she felt that way about baby food). After mass we chatted with one of our professors from college and then went for lunch with Auntie, Uncle, Grandpa George and Grandma Sandie.
LO was exhausted when we left the restaurant and she closed her eyes as we headed to Grandpa D's and Grandma JJ's. Asleep for 10 minutes... what a nap! The spotted puppies greeted us at the door and the Bel was happy to see them. She then spent the next 3 hours playing with Grandma and Grandpa before her little body was exhausted and we headed home. As some of you know she is not exactly the ideal car passenger and she cried until we were 10 minutes from home when she fell asleep. When we got home she was awake again and stayed that way until she was snuggled up on the couch and we were watching Big Brother. We put her down, but it was like having a newborn again... up every 2 hours and wouldn't go back to bed until she ate, each and every time! Thank God I am on Spring Break!

Proud Grandpa
Karamia
Poor fuzzy baby! As some of you know Karamia is our 9 year old puppy whom we adopted as our own 4 years ago, and until this past summer was our only child. Kara has been suffering from mouth problems for a long time and we have tried many ways to make her feel better. About a week and a half ago she wouldn't take a treat or her prized chicken jerky, and DM could not get her mouth open for one of her pain meds so it was time to visit Dr. Tom. Though the good Dr. couldn't fit her in one of his partners at the vet clinic could on Tuesday and boy oh boy our poor baby had lots to deal with. DM brought her back in for surgery on Wednesday morning and off to work we went. We waited all day to hear the out come and all in all it wasn't the best news, but it will still be okay. Her dental health had been neglected for many years and she had her 1st cleaning and 8 teeth pulled about 3 years ago. Yesterday she had 3 pulled and one of which seems to have been the major culprit as far as pain was concerned. The worst of all is that the worst tooth had its roots in her sinuses and that had caused bone decay because of the bacteria and could be the cause of the constant sneezing and pain. There were a number of other tests run to check her health and we hope that all of them come back clean. Please think of our fuzzy baby for us as you know she is apart of our little family and we love her very much.
